Am I Sponsored by a metal detecting brand?

Am I Sponsored By A Metal Detecting Brand?

This is a question that I've started to get asked a lot and the simple answer is NO I'm not sponsored by any company.

Would I Like To Be Sponsored By A Metal Detecting Brand?

Again, the simple answer to this is NO I have zero interest in being sponsored by any company because I want to use different machines and the whole 'sponsorship' thing is really just a load of shit.

I have a mind of my own, I have no interest in fads, fashions and running with the crowd, fuck the crowd, I've spent all my life trying to avoid the "GROUP-THINK" mentality of the masses. In this day and age people find it hard to believe that you would dedicate so much time to writing about metal detecting and machines for nothing in return. I get plenty in return, it's called satisfaction, I've always written, be it poetry, blogs about my fishing etc, writing walks hand in hand with being alive for me.

Because I love metal detecting I decided to start writing about it and because I got my first machine over 35 years ago when tech was simple. I've chosen to stick with analog, audio hunting, with machines that aren't widely used or publicised about. Call me old fashion but if a small company has spent the time creating a product which clearly performs very well, the least you can do is pay the money that they ask for. I think too many people use their YouTube channels, along with fake subscribers as leverage to get free products, which in return they'll praise no end. If you do, or have done this then you're a sell-out shill, nothing more and nothing less and your opinion is meaningless, to put it even more bluntly, your credibility is minus zero.

Mainstream Marketing Is Mind Control

I believe there's a covert battle going on, it's a war on the mind, everything that makes up the material world is projected in such a way to change both behaviour and the way we think about things. Marketing is simply an extension of thought control, the "mainstream" is usually shallow, hitting the masses on a baseline level. I find most things within the mainstream are non-thinking enterprises that target the mammalian part of the brain. Through the advancement of the internet people are literally being hypnotised from the second they open their eyes to the minute they go to sleep.

The perception of everything is being controlled which in turn creates the desired psychological response, non-thinking sheep that mimic what they read and hear, it's all so fucking boring. Times don't change on their own, they're engineered to change in the way the system wants it to, this is across the board with everything. Does This Make The Older Ways Obsolete? no not at all but you're made to believe that every form of evolution and advancement is, in fact, for the greater good, it's not. Technology might make aspects of our world better and more convenient but it also falls short in a lot of areas as well.

Technology Kills Art

The above statement might seem somewhat 'Final' but it's the way I see it, nowadays art is dying at the hands of big tech. Take photography, you don't need to understand a manual camera anymore, you need no concept of exposure and shutter speed, you just press a button and the jobs done for you. You don't need to know how to use a dark room because your images are files that you can upload to photoshop and modify them as you see fit. Music is soulless electronic 'quantised' bullshit , you don't even have to sing, you just use an autotune processor which will fix the pitch of your voice in line with the chords of the song. Drums, basses, guitars can be edited and spliced together in pro tools .... hell ..... you don't even have to play anymore because it can be programmed. Real music with life and soul is dead in the water, especially with the advancement of A.I technology. BUT >>>> technology is great ... right?

For me metal detecting has taken exactly the same direction as the examples I've mentioned above, and what's worse, the conversation is being controlled by the very companies that have basically turned the hobby into a fucking shit show. What Do I Mean By This? let's go back to the start of this blog, the clever marketing has got into peoples heads, convincing then that they're swinging the best machines in existence, and with the help from the sell-outs and the shills, the conversation is being controlled. Offer a man a free machine and he'll walk on 'all fours' with the Vaseline at the ready for the probe of pleasure to be inserted.

Does This Matter? in the scheme of things, no not really, there's far more important issues in life to be concerned about. BUT .... it's a telling sign that through my blogs and videos alone, people contact me saying that it's actually opening their mind seeing analog machines "that they've never heard of performing so well", some actually feel embarrassed to use their old Tesoro machines or analog units on group/club digs because they think the piss will be taken out of them. WOW !!! what a great way to feel. Why Is This? because the marketing of the main brands, along with the sick human condition, has created this pack mentality inside the inbreds among us and when you have sell outs and paid shills with a lot of influence on YouTube openly slating the detectors that don't bring them commission, then this is the end result.

So going back to the start of this blog post, you can shove the sponsorships straight up your arse, these people have nothing of any substance to say and they have an agenda. I'm just going to quietly continue to metal detect with machines that I love to use, making some videos and writing some blogs. It's your choice if you want to read and watch any of it.
