You're Boring The Shit Out Of Me!

Here we are spinning on a tiny rock in the middle of a huge expanse of nothing that we call the universe, I believe this is simply a projection of our collective thought. There is no space, no universe, there is no time, day or night, these are simply imbedded beliefs and because millions of people believe it, it makes it real. I believe there isn't anything, it's simply a series of illusions that the brain processes, we're energy, we aren't the physical being we see in the mirror. Actually the finest joke is upon us and that joke is called "life". Heavy shit for a metal detecting blog ... right ?

We Are Everything & Nothing At The Same Time

There are so many questions about so many things, most don't bother thinking or questioning anything because it might shatter their safe little existence - which is totally fine. Questioning is important but one specific question that bores the living shit out of me is. How Does The Deus 2 & Manticore Compare To the Nexus?

People really have been utterly brainwashed into thinking that these two machines are the best there is, when in fact they're cheap plastic toys that entertain the senses. There is no comparison between the performance of any Nexus machine compared to the Deus 2 and the Manticore, quite frankly it's a non conversation. Despite what some fake YouTube experts say, both these machines are turn on and go metal detectors.

The "advanced" settings aren't advanced to anyone that actually has a brain, YES .. people new to the hobby who don't have a clue about metal detectors might find them complicated. But anyone with a functioning brain cell will see that most of the settings are a bunch of bullshit.

How Does The Nexus Compare To ....... Bore Off Dick Head

Having used my Equinox 800 extensively for more than two years and my Nokta Legend on the river I stand 100% by the points I'm making in this blog. All these machines are simply a variation of a theme. They're cheaply made pieces of plastic that exhibit average performance at best.

If you need to ask the question how these detectors compare to Nexus I can already tell that you're going to find the operation of Nexus tricky. There is no comparison in the depth, discrimination at depth and the unmasking ability, both the performance of the MPV3 and MPV3+ is unrivalled.

You might not be able to submerge or dive with a Nexus but you can use specific models on saltwater beaches. Any model with an iron reject feature is useable on the beach, another point, the module isn't waterproof so when it rains you have to put a cover on it, this is hardly a big deal.

I only ever put a cover on when the rain is really heavy but if it's too wet metal detecting becomes counterproductive. On my private permissions I don't want to be making a mess trying to dig in torrential rain, you can end up wrecking the pasture. The whole 'you can't use it in the rain' is another irrelevant argument that some like to cling on to.

Most people that use Nexus aren't looking to dive or hunt with it submerged in the sea, they're on inland sites and they're wanting to go deep. Nexus has always been about depth, as I've stated before, the whole high frequency coil & unmasking approach was never really a priority. But it just so happens that they do a bloody good job in this area, the high frequency coils added a new dimension to the Nexus of old.

For Nexus users there's no real interest in VDI scales or hundreds of tonal options, it's about finding stuff in the ground - is it ferrous or non-ferrous? and from there it's your choice to dig or not to dig. Now let us acknowledge the fact that all detectors at any of the price points will find loads in the ground. It's the land you're hunting that's the main priority here. You can't find what isn't there however cheap or expensive the detector you're swinging is.

A lot of the machines on the market will find a lot of what the Nexus will but there's a percentage of targets that they won't and it's this that motivates me. There's going to be both deep and masked signals that the Nexus will see that the digital detectors won't and it's these targets that I'm focusing on. Now don't get me wrong here in the scheme of things none of what I'm writing is really very important but what I'm addressing here is the constant, dull question comparing Nexus to both the Deus 2 and Manticore, there is no comparison.

You can use what the hell you want, it makes no difference to me I'm sure you're going to find plenty of interesting items. But there genuinely is no comparison between the performance of Nexus compared to any of the digital machines on the market. The only advantage they have is to the common user, you don't have to know how to operate a metal detector, all these machines are "turn on and go".

They're designed for ease of use, this way anyone, anywhere can buy a machine and start swinging, it's all about the companies making as much money as possible, this means selling products that are as automated as possible. There's nothing wrong with this but don't come at me trying to sell these machines as if they're some kind of professional tool because they aren't.
