A Blog About My Metal Detecting & Information Resource About Nexus Metal Detectors. All Views Are My Own, I'm Not Sponsored By Any Company. All Equipment Mentioned I've Purchased - If You Have Any Questions You Can Contact Me Through The Form In The Left Bar
Let me start by making the point that many great things have come from scientific research but this blog isn't specifically about that. It's about the belief that "Science" can be blindly followed and can never be wrong.
I understand in the eyes of many science is the new GOD, who remembers that catchy slogan a few years ago "Trust The Science". I bet hundreds and thousands of people out there regret they did, especially those that got conned into taking a fake vaccine full of systemic shite. They can thank trusting the science for their strokes, blood clots, bell's palsy, heart attacks, nerve damage, myocarditis, pericarditis, turbo cancers, ruined immune systems and sudden adult death syndrome - I could go on. I trusted my own immune system which is millennia old as opposed to something created in a laboratory closely watched over by a bunch of Globalists.
Be A Good Citizen
But alas. those that worship science had a real problem with people like me that didn't want what I was being offered, it was all these science lovers that shouted from the rooftops that horrible individuals like me should be expelled from society. Isn't it reassuring that all these pseudo-intellectuals are such kind hearted souls. All these people who needed to desperately let everyone know how much they cared for others vis their social media, didn't care for "the others" that didn't share the same views as them. Hmmmmm interesting.
Where Am I Going With This?
I couldn't give a toss about Science, Physics or Theory, some of the most educated people I've known have been the most closed minded and stupid. Why Is This? simple, either them or mommy and daddy paid for their expensive education and they think they know it all. This usually walks hand in hand with never being able to except they might actually be wrong about something. I find these types aren't open to any 'outside the box' thinking and they're usually pretty condescending if you have an original idea or a view they don't agree with. Science is a mind prison that puts bars and cages around alternative discussion, Physics is exactly the same, these two 'subjects' simply solidify and tighten the virtual reality headset most people were born wearing. They set out to explain the perceived rules within the holographic state that we're existing in, you know ... the world where the human eye can only see a pin head on a pin head of what's actually around us.
It's A Physics Thing
The meaning of Theory conjures up the same feelings of constraint for me, you get people that study the theory on any given subject and will insist that it's the answer to everything, even though 'practical experiences' or 'natural born talent' blows all Theory out the window. What Do I Mean By This? lets take Jimi Hendrix as an example, like many of the musical greats of the past, they had a natural gift. It wasn't based around the theory of what chords can and can't be, regimented scales and, theoretically what's right and wrong when it comes to making music.
Hendrix was driven by a voice deep within his soul, he projected this voice and changed the way people looked upon guitar playing forever more, he made music that, in theory wasn't correct. Guess What? he couldn't read guitar music and he didn't make his music within the soul-less constraints of musical "Theory". When you listen to his song 'Third Stone From The Sun' below, he's meshing jazz and psychedelic with progressive rock ideas, there's movement and emotion. Mitch Mitchell, one of my favourite drummers also didn't conform to what 'drumming' should be. He fused Jazz and Rock together in a way that no-one ever had before and hasn't since.
This music will survive forever, not because of the Physics, Science and Theory behind it, because of the soul, emotion and the ability to project both those feeling into an audible existence, because the music comes from an emotional state it allows people to connect to it on an emotional level. I find it impossible to connect to music that is 'theoretically' right because it has no soul, soul doesn't come from constraints.
What Does This Have To Do With Metal Detecting?
To answer the above question correctly it stems back to both Nexus and other metal detectors, all the mainstream machines are pretty much designed around the same technologies. The only real difference between them is cosmetic. They pretty much all function within the same boundries and display the same performance, give or take a few elements here and there. All these machines exist within the realms of where people can equate Science, Physics and Theory to the way they operate. This means that the scholars that have studied these subjects can appear in the comments sections of videos and on forums displaying their incredible knowledge on all these three subjects and equate them to how everything works, that includes metal detectors. If you've studied these three subjects enough some might like to refer to themselves as an expert. I refer to them as 'repeaters', they've read their books and they are simply repeating what they've read, and so the cycle continues and continues until you get to the stage where everyone is thinking the same. Then comes "Group-Think", once this has been achieved there's no turning back.
Most of the time their 'educated' views are the only real and balanced explanation to 'said subject' - Why Is That? simple, they can never be wrong because they've got a little certificate hanging on their wall stating that they can memorise the bullshit they were given to qualify as either a Scientist or Physicist. This means that "we can't bullshit them" because they are the all seeing and all knowing of everything. In fact they're usually the most closed minded unoriginal entities that I've ever come across, it's because of this 'all knowing' trend that I seek solitude and silence away from other humans. Regurgitation blunts my enthusiasm to make conversation, not because I think I'm better than anyone, because people just bore the shit out me.
You Can't Fool Me I Have A Degree, You've Already Been Fooled Mate
The issues tend to arise between me and the self appointed scientists and physicists when I get approached with their 'mind prison' views about how they think digital metal detectors work, and then they carry that over to how they think Nexus machines work. Nexus machines don't operate or perform within the constrains of Science, Physics and Theory. Actually very little makes sense in regards to how they are designed and the performance they display. These machines are built around an individuals mind that doesn't see detector operation and performance in the same way every other company does. It's an individuals gift that's conjured in the minds eye and created into existence. The concept of Nexus doesn't relate to preconceived ideas of what metal detectors should and should be, they exist on the 'in-between'.
What Does This Mean? it means that when you spout your crap about Nexus, usually when the individual hasn't ever used on, the crap your spouting holds absolutely no relevance to how Nexus machines work. It was only a week or so ago someone sent me a link to huge discussion about the MP V3 that was posted on a forum. There were well over 100 posts about Nexus and I think there was only one person that actually owned one. I have to say I've never read so much ill-informed bullshit in all my life, the nobodies were talking up a complete load of nonsense that held no relevance in any way to how a Nexus machine works. This nonsense was all based off of two things, number one, a crap video uploaded by someone that couldn't work the V3 out to save his life, and number two, the Science, Physics and Theory behind how digital metal detectors work. None of this is relevant regarding how Nexus operates and I know for a fact that half of these people with their science based bullshit wouldn't be able to operate a Nexus if their life depended on it.
This might seem like a harsh assessment but I feel it's the truth, when you're surrounded by people that think they know it all they feel there's nothing to learn. They're so stuck with these fixed ideas that have been embedded into them it's a complete waste of time trying to get into some form of discussion because they won't be listening to what I've got to say. They'll simply be waiting to steamroller their point across for some kind of ego trip. I think what I'm trying to say here is, if you're thinking of coming at me with your Scientific explanations and Physics jargon about how you think a Nexus machine works, don't bother because I have zero interest in hearing what you've got to say, it's not because I'm closed minded, it's usually because you are.
